WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Customer Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the development and execution of a post-sale marketing strategy driven by adoption, upsell/cross-sell, revenue, retention/loyalty, and advocacy goals for the mixed-use team. This position will report to the Director of Customer Marketing.

You also know that identifying ‘what they want, when they need it’ is a massive puzzle that’s solved through analysis, testing, and learning - and there’s almost nothing more exciting to you. You’re a self-starter who is metrics-driven and wants to be part of a fun, dynamic team that thrives on delivering real results - learning from failure and screaming from the hilltops when you find what works. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Upsell / Cross-Sell Campaigns:
    • Map the customer lifecycle, identify points of value and subsequent triggers and opportunities for promotion
    • Develop and implement campaigns that increase penetration and utilization of add-ons to existing customer base—taking a test/measure/optimize approach and using data analysis to drive all decision-making and high level of focus on revenue goals
    • Partner with Product Marketing on bringing new features and value-added services to market. Leveraging positioning frameworks to create customer campaigns to drive adoption and revenue growth
  • Customer Retention / Loyalty:
    • Lead and manage customer engagement and communication programs, such as onboarding campaigns and ongoing nurture campaigns to drive retention
    • Identify marketing, sales, and product opportunities to reduce customer churn and implement accordingly
    • Develop and manage customer community—a place for customers to learn and engage with each other on best practices for property management and the Buildium platform
  • Customer Advocacy:
    • Identify opportunities to test (then scale!) customer advocacy and loyalty programs. Surprise and delights matter - from day 0 throughout their entire lifecycle.
    • Identify key customers to feature in video testimonials, speaking opportunities, and case studies  
    • Develop and implement a plan for recruiting and rewarding customers for reviews on third-party sites 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or business
  • Experience developing and executing upsell and cross-sell campaigns into existing customer base 
  • Experience developing and executing marketing programs that drive customer engagement and loyalty
  • Experience with SMB and/or B2C marketing, lead generation, and sales processes
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally and foster internal and customer-facing relationships
  • Strong analytical skills to determine effectiveness and ROI of customer engagement efforts
  • Passion for understanding customer needs, pain points, and goals and creating an exceptional customer experience throughout the relationship lifecycle

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Experience in Customer Service, Customer Success, Account Management, or Sales is a plus
  • Experience at a SaaS company
